MODULE DESCRIPTION

This module investigates colour as a fundamental formal element in the making of an artwork. The Newton colour wheel is considered, as well as colour theory, colour terminology and mythology. Application of these aspects is done in older and contemporary artworks.

 

Cost: Individual Modules each R400-00 (done individually, there are no assignments and no crit involved). The Art Practice Basic Short Course includes ​FIVE modules and TWO assignments. Assignments are not compulsory, but if you want to receive the Certificate of Completion for this Short Course you have to complete it. 

 

Recognition: Certificate of Completion on completion of all 5 modules in this Short Course plus the assignments.

 

Course Category: Level 01

 

Target Audience: For art lovers or artists who want to learn more about colour theory in art; about how the right colour relationships can improve the quality of the artwork; how to implement effective colour relationships; and colour psychology.

 

Course Duration: There is a one-month limit to do the courses after registration. It is difficult to determine how long it will take you to complete the course. The average time to read through the tutorial material is about 3 hours, but it can be longer, depending on how much time you spend on the links. This Module also has an assignment to complete, which takes a variable amount on time.

    Mythology of colour, conceptual colour.

    Work through Notes on colour.

    There is an Assignment for this module. It is not compulsory, but if you want to receive the Certificate of Completion for this Short Course you have to complete it. The Assignment is practical and should take about 1 day.
